Where, what, who, why? huh?

So....been a little bit since I posted last.....yeah...been a little busy....working full time does that to you.  What have I been up to?
Well, so far, working on getting Winslowshire up to par for 2010 season (oh, come on...you knew that a plug was coming right?)  We will be getting an ATM machine on site so that should make a huge difference for people/patrons coming in that need cash for vendors who don't take credit cards.

We're having a faire florist too (http://www.glimpesofgaia.com) so real faire flowers this year.

Oh yes we did win 2nd place Best New Renaissance Festival of 2009 so THANK YOU to those of you who voted for us!  http://www.renaissancefestivalmusicpodcast.com is the site to see the rest of the winners!

Charlie is doing better and back to his routine at school...working on having him go #2 on the potty, but seriously, the Chiropractic sessions are the best decision we ever made regarding that, so more sessions to go for Charlie (who's growing up so fast...and PJ day at school is Friday...so jealous).

I have been busy trying my best to get out there again and interviewing which is not a bad thing...I'm not writing so much, only because I've been busy doing other things...but have been knitting also...keeping busy doing that.

stuff

So, I've been busy over the weekend making props and stuff for the Halloween event coming up at the Farm.  Even my nemesis (Heidi - the vegan on the board of directors) was discussing with me how Friday during the day will most likely not work out for the farm, as MOST people (including us) will be working during the day and oh by the way, kids are back in school....but....this is her farm, and this is the way she wants to do it, so this is the way I have been advertising it (as such, I haven't really gone as nuts as I did with Winslowshire...)

I decided to not do that crazy amethyst shawl (lace, cabling and otherwise not my level of knitting) and instead do an easier shawl to make (not that I'm lazy, it's just I don't know some of the stitches needed to make the thing, and I don't have the right yarn to make it with either...) so I'm working on an interesting pattern now and hopefully can post pictures when I'm all done (I have yet to do that here don't I....)

My little dude Charlie has been having fun with Granpa all day and he deserves it...he actually did go potty at a restaurant (his request!) so yay!  He starts his PreK (yes again) on Friday (yes, I know it's late), and tomorrow, he has his Autism PPD evaluation at Mass General, so I'm not sure what that all entails, but will let you know as soon as possible.

I'm still here *work* and it's been not so great...I've been trying very hard to deal with a strange situation, and frankly I think I'm handling it pretty well (can't write about it either..sorry).

Oh well, I guess I'm lucky to be working at all...

Winslowshire is now over - now what?

Well, with Winslowshire Festival for the Animals is now over and done (so glad if you came by the way), there are things that we are planning on doing, but not sure if I should spill the beans just yet...

We have to talk with the farm owner about possibly doing a Halloween event there, so stay tuned for that...and G*d help me, as I scare the most easiest!  (I mean, we're talking about a small jack in the box can make me jump out of my seat!)

I think I should contact the Kettle Corn people that came for Winslowshire, I mean what's better than kettle corn and scary stories around a camp fire right?

Also, does anyone know of a place where we can possibly get props for free or donated?  (ha ha I'm funny...).

I'm thinking about creating a blog page just for Phin Volt Entertainment so we have a record of everything that we're doing...(yay).  I do have a blog page just for Winslowshire through Wordpress (which I really like by the way).  Pictures will be posted soon for Winslowshire (hopefully anyway).

Oh did you want the results of our efforts?  Well, Saturday we had 527 people and Sunday we had 328 people and total amount the farm made was roughly $8,000.00 (or so)...so not too shabby.

We are hoping for one more coming for next year, but the details are not even in yet...as soon as I have them I will let you know.

I'm still working full time, but as you know (well, most of you do anyway), I'm not really fond of it, and have been trying to narrow down my purpose, my passion, my strengths...hmmm, doing better at that I do have to say.  Charlie is going to Summer School (my little guy) and has an MRI at Children's in Boston (MA) in a few weeks...why?  Well, he's 5 and he's still not potty trained....sigh...I know...we've tried it all...bribes, no bribes, taking away things, just undies, etc...but I really think he doesn't feel the pressure, so we're getting it double checked...sucky thing to do I know, but well, if it makes my mind at ease....going to see The Rat Pack at Stoneham Theatre on Saturday (for bday present for me - early) and going to see The Lowell Spinners game the following weekend, which will be the first official baseball game for Charlie.

I may be helping out another company do some marketing, but waiting on an e mail back from her...so will let you all know about that soon...;)

That's it for me for now :)
